How is Mount Business Association funded?
The MBA is funded by a targeted rate that is applied to buildings on commercially zoned land within a set boundary. Any business that owns or operates from a commercial building within the MBA zone in Mount Maunganui is eligible for free membership.
Mount Business Association aims to utilise this funding to deliver the annual plan.
Every six months, MBA reports back to Tauranga City Council on our progress and achievements for the past six months, as outlined in our annual plan and budget.
What is the Targeted Rate Area?
Businesses situated within the yellow boundary below are paying the commercial targeted rate to Tauranga City Council, they are Full Members of Mount Business Association (MBA). Those funds are then passed on to the Association annually.
